Guitar Strings Cleaning Regime

Are you a professional guitarist? Then you will find that the bell like sharp tone of your steel string guitar has ceased to remain as it is after a few months of continuous use. Actually, it happens so because the strings of the guitar start accumulating dust and dirt over the time. This prevents it from making the characteristic bell like sharp tone. During such occasions, you must immediately realize that the strings require cleaning.

Now here are tips on cleaning your guitar strings scrupulously. Watch out!

·         Use Hand Sanitizer

You should clean your hand with hand sanitizer before you intend to play the guitar. You might be taken aback with this tip. This is because you will find it difficult to understand how germs can dampen the bell like sound of your guitar. Actually, hand sanitizer removes oil and moisture from hand. As a result, chances of oil deposition on the Gibson strings of your guitar gets ruled out. If this is made a regular habit then it will prevent the emergence of dull sound from the strings after some time.

·         Polish the Strings

Keep paper towel or soft linen handy every time you play your guitar. Get into the habit of wrapping this cloth or paper around the strings and dragging the same along the length a couple of times. This will polish your guitar strings and remove oil deposition, dirt and grime off the strings in the process. Eventually, the bell like sound of the guitar strings will revive. However, do not forget to do this polishing before and after playing your guitar every day.
